ALLERGY TO NICKEL

ALLERGY TO NICKEL

Experts estimate that about 15% of the world’s population suffers from nickel allergies or intolerances, one of the most common causes of allergic contact dermatitis. Over time, the symptoms related to nickel allergy can become particularly uncomfortable and difficult to manage.

Although skin reactions are often triggered by direct contact with the metal (found in jewelry, coins, cutlery and utensils), it is important to know that nickel is also present in many foods. In more sensitive individuals, even the ingestion of small amounts of foods containing nickel can cause unwanted reactions.

The nickel content in foods depends on the soil and water used during cultivation, as well as on the machinery and materials involved in the different stages of the production chain. Tomatoes may also contain nickel, which is why they are often excluded from the diet of people who suffer from nickel allergy.

ALLERGY TO NICKEL

TOMATO YES, NICKEL NO!

We bring back the taste of tomato even for those who are intolerant to nickel, thanks to hydroponic cultivation.

Gandini tomato passata is made exclusively with tomatoes grown using hydroponic techniques, a sustainable cultivation method that takes place without soil. The soil is replaced by an inert substrate and the plants are nourished with a balanced solution of water and mineral salts, essential for healthy and controlled growth.

Hydroponic systems operate in a closed cycle, allowing the recovery of the water used for irrigation and minimizing waste, making cultivation more efficient and sustainable.

Thanks to this technique, it is possible to obtain high-quality tomatoes with an extremely low nickel content, lower than 0.01 mg/kg, ideal for those who follow a low-nickel diet

TOMATO YES, NICKEL NO!

Our tomatoes are constantly subjected to laboratory analyses to verify their nickel content and ensure maximum protection for those who suffer from nickel allergy or intolerance. Each bottle displays a batch number and expiration date, and for every batch it is possible to consult the preventive nickel analyses, available for each package.

Our passata is not only virtually nickel-free, designed for those who follow a low-nickel diet, but it is also thick, smooth and natural. Its velvety texture, bright red color and rich tomato flavor make it perfect for preparing sauces and traditional Italian recipes.
